Looking good! What are the realities of Slovakia for skiing - standard of lifts, food and accom etc? Always liked the idea and my brother in law is now based in Bratislava so ought to head out some time. Any tips very welcome.

Chopok-North (Jasna) is the largest resort with the most improved lift system.
Also linked to Chopok South with is an off-piste paradise. Usually 3m snow from January to April.
Donovaly (the pics you see above) is a small resort, but perfect for beginners and families.
Compared to the Alps, you pay less and you recive less.
Food and accomodation are much cheaper, lifts are improving slowly.
One overall rule: the week-ends are rather busy on all resorts, huge queues before the lifts, but weekdays are normal.

rayscoops, one of those cheap airlines flies to Poprad-Tatry. This is much closer to the main resorts than Bratislava.
