Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

We are there from 5th Jan - DIY self drive trip so we get 8 days skiing in a week. Pictures on the website now of them trying to clear 150cm of snow off the roof of the new Fimbabahn building at Idalp - which they have to do before they asphalt it! The webcams are on again now as well.

RachelQ, snojito, stanton, RobinS, Peter Ross, Peter Ross, hi...i just wanted to ask you something about ischgl..i'm planning with some friends to go there from 29/12 to 5/1....the place is wonderful for sure...we are just a little bit worried about the fact that it could be really expensive...something like cortina where you have to pay 40-50 euro to get in a place..we want to have party but we don't want to spend 1000 euro in a week....what can you suggest me?

tilotti, hi, welcome to snowHeads snowHead I can't really tell you how much it costs to get into the clubs in Ischgl. These days we tend to party more apres ski, have a good dinner, and maybe go out to a bar or two rather than clubbing. My sons did go out most nights last year and never said it was ridiculously expensive though, they certainly couldn't have afforded 40-50 euro to get into anywhere, so I don't think it's Cortina type prices. They didn't go to Pasha - that probably costs a lot more. Sorry, that's probably not very helpful. But just go, the place rocks, only 5 more weeks more for me Very Happy

€40-50 to get in a place? Hotel, NightClub ?

Your proposing to go over the busiest & most expensive week of the season. I would say €40 per night in a Pension would be the very cheapest if you can find somewhere & probably down or up valley.

As far as I know clubs do not charge (except to hang your coat) but for New Years Eve everywhere will charge.

tilotti, sorry, I'm not going to be much help I'm afraid -- I've not been yet, Feb's going to be my first time. Have you had a look through the Ischgl resort thread? I found it and the feedback thread full of useful info, and the other snowHeads who know the resort were very quick to help!

stanton, keep 'em coming Smile

RachelQ, RobinS, nickH, and especially you Vegas Pitch: you lucky beggars - we've got to wait 'til end of Feb! grrrrrrr Very Happy

stanton, saw the Google Earth map a couple of weeks ago .. well impressed !

Anyway, having never skied in Ischgl before (but had a couple of nights there while staying in Kappl earlier this year ... and got the bug) :

... assuming the whole area is open, what are the not to be missed runs i) long fast reds ; ii) challenging blacks or easily accessible off piste without a guide ; iii) hidden powder ?. Only there for 2.5 days so won't have much time to explore for ourselves. Any other tips for getting the most out of the area in a limited time ??? ta very much

I read it that 40-50eu was the New Year's club price.

Ischgl can keep their prices high as they can get plenty of Germans to pay them and don't need to try and attract anyone else.

Excellent w/end in Ischgl. Club prices reasonable, 10 euro for Pacha, 5 euro for Trofana, 10 euro for Insider/Living room if that takes your fancy.

No idea how much the drinks were. It's all a daze.

Snow truly excellent. Fantastic area.
