Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

hi all,
new to the forum....so be gentle Shocked

myself and a few friends are going to val t soon and i was wondering what experiences people have had going at this time of year. ie snow/busy?/prices etc. we are a mixed ability group of boarders so hoping to be able to ski in/out Very Happy

addo, welcome to snowHeads. The resort should be reasonably quiet before Christmas. The snow can be great, poor or indifferent - it's up to the snow gods really. Val Thorens has a good network of snow cannons to help, and they seem to have been using these a lot in recent weeks to help lay a base down on key pistes.

Hi,

Im there from Dec 8th for a week or so depending on conditions.
Fingers crossed it's looking good ,Metcheck are forecasting snow over the next week along with the what the cannons are making.
Parts of Meribel and Courchevel also plan to open Dec 8th so hopefully 3 valleys links will be running.
Hope mont vallon is open too that would be nice.

Roll on 4 weeks !

yeah the 8th is when we arrive, only till the 11th though. not been to this resort before so not sure what to expect. Puzzled

we just wanted somewhere early season and this looked one of the likeliest bets. also fitted in with flights and accommodation requirements
