Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Morning Snowheads,

Given the excellent snow falls in Austria, i am sorely tempted to book a 2 day trip at the end of November (29th). Flights are only £20 return inc tax, so even if there is a tropical heatwave and all the snow + glaciers melt i wont have lost alot!

So, i am after some cheap accomodation (hostel is fine) which i can reach ski slopes from, and i can get to via a bus/train from the aiport. I am looking to spend as little as possible here Embarassed Laughing

Also - i will be skiing Friday & Saturday, so i need a resort which isn't just open on weekends at the moment.

Just book the flights and get the accommodation nearer the time - depending on what is looking best, there won't be a problem finding any at that point. There should be skiing at Obertauern and Kaprun then if no where else, both are served by a cheapish shuttle bus from Salzburg. Go for it Very Happy

Hezza, Schladming and Reiteralm are open - loads more opening soon. Transfers are €39. And its still snowing. Very Happy

Hezza, You can check for and reserve accomodation in Austria using the tiscover site. Just enter the region/resort your interested in and the dates into their search facility.
