He's not left his skis behind. They are there in the picture. Well, sort of anyway.
Notice the smoke? He's going so fast his skis have just vapourised.

We could sew some little bells on the suit so we are forewarned when they are moving, (much as lepers used to have so signfy the unclean), and to help with the sunbathing on piste how about taking the 6ft flag off their old chopper bikes and attaching it ti their rucksacks?
