that there wont be significant snow in Montgenevre before christmas as there clearly isnt on the webcam, i know its very snow sure and it nearly away is very good snow cover. The same happened last year and there was a huge dump 2 weeks before which made conditions more than satisfactory.
does anyone else get really anxious?

Christopher, its the begining of november, this is normal! and montgenevre does have snow. I saw it monday when i drove through.
Ok its patchy and unridable on but its nov1st! not dec1st!

Christopher, And Meteo France said earlier in the week that temperatures and weather were Absolutely Normal. You'll have noticed that that DIDN'T MAKE ANY HEADLINES.

Although if it makes you feel any better, some time in the 1930s, the village council of Kitzbuhel (IIRC) voted not to open the season until after Christmas as snow couldn't be guaranteed until mid-January. Christmas skiing is an invention of the tour operators.

Christopher, for goodness sake, I was driving through the Alps yesterday and the fields are full of cows (though they are bringing them down). It's autumn, not winter. Look for serious snow from early December. But yes, anyone skiing anywhere at Christmas can be forgiven for being nervous if there isn't any by the middle of the month; Christmas skiing, as David Murdoch says, is an invention of the tour operators and always a bigger gamble than Easter skiing.

but kitzbuhl last season didnt have hardly any snow, there famous race was cancelled. That resort is too low for me and isnt snow sure.
On the otherhand Montgenevre had adequate snow to keep atleast 80% of slopes open from 1st week of December to 3rd week of April.
so that didnt really make me any more nervous

Yes totally anxious. I notice those who are telling you not to be anxious seem to have all season to look forward to snow (I am very jealous by the way). Christmas is the only time i can go skiing - so invention of the tour operators or not - that is when I am going.
However, watching web cams can become seriously addictive. My therapist tries to get me to socialise more but I just cant help staring at grainy clips of the mountains.!!!

live feed so not sure what you'll see, but earlier today saw lots of i assume happy early season skiers.
I've never yet not be able to ski on any ski trip in 15+ years. nearest I got was the "super over hyped snow sure powder paraidse" that is Canada one late Jan - the warm rain very nearly washed all the snow away for a few weeks b4 it snowed again.
