Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Who's the world's oldest skier?

 Poster: A snowHead

Surely there can be no rival to Kiezo Miura, the 100-year-old Japanese skier who skied the Vallee Blanche at 99 and celebrated his centenary with a ski at Snowbird, Utah? Kiezo is the father of the first man to ski Everest (in 1970) - Yuichiro Miura - who also became the oldest man ever to climb Everest in 2003.

So, is anyone on Earth still gliding across snow at 101, 102 or 103? Whatever, here are Kiezo Miura's secrets to fitness and long life, from The Washington Post. According to that article, he breakfasts on seaweed and eggs. Then "he is out the front door for his daily two-mile power walk."

Here's an archived report on Kiezo, his son, and grandson, pulling off that Vallee Blanche run in February 2003, from The Japan Times.

It was a shame they wouldn't let his great-grandaughter do the Vallée Blanche with him - I'm sure she probably as ski-sure as the rest of her family in spite of being only 5 or so.

Hats off to the guy - what an amazing man. Shocked

If you click on the snowBase link towards the top of the page it lets you go the snowMedia Zone where once you've registered you can upload photos there which you can then copy the links to and paste the link in your posts here.

Hope this helps.

gavinnaderson, thanks for a super 1st post, for hanging it onto a relevant (if elderly thread) and then for further feedback.
More info on how to insert photos using our snowMedia zone is here http://snowheads.com/ski-forum/viewtopic.php?t=25601

NB this was all set up before the days of flickr, tumblr etc. If you've already got pics hosted somewhere on the web just use the standard posting technique
