SKiing at Xmas? If it was free, ok, but when we tried it it was far too busy. I'd rather wait two or three weeks and pay less for empty slopes

queen_sheba, Don't take it personally. Many of us have already booked our trips and/or have limited leave time left to take. 9 days is a hell of a chunk, especially at a time when many will have family responsibilities. FWIW I'm jealous!

Got other (unconfirmed) plans for xmas+newyr, but was certainly looking to do something later in January. Been to Les Gets for the last 5 years in January, though, but would go again.

Totally depends on where you go! Find the right place and Christmas in the mountains is the nuts!!
