I spotted piles of snow on the Double M piste in Tignes yesterday. I guess they were just testing things as I'm sure there will be some warm weather before winter sets in (although that piste is deep in the shade so maybe they are hoping to get a bit of a base down).

ValTho have been blasting their snowguns now for 3 days solid. This is not a test. There is a whitestrip right down to resort-level. They are laying a base for their opening in about a month. Let's hope it lasts that long.

It's certainly cold. Minus 6 at 1500m this morning. Very dry at the moment; is it going to precipitate next week?

The snowguns are back on and blasting away this week in ValTho.
The previous snow made in Oct has held up well.
There are a few solid whitestrips starting to appear on a brown mountainside.
The resort opens on Sat 24 Nov and things look good.

With 40cm of snow claimed at 2300m and 60cm at 3200m, VT have brought their opening date forwards to this Saturday.
