Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Record Year suggested on TV5Monde

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
I haven't seen a reference here to the report last Saturday on TV5Monde which suggested that there had been a record snowfall on Mt Blanc (I think) for this time of year. I think it was suggested that 12m had fallen and that local experts were saying that it was easily the most snow in 60 years.

The general consensus was that a bumper year was to be expected in the French Alps, exceeding anything experienced for several decades.

My ability to translate from French to English isn't entirely up to speed with Newscaster delivery, but this certainly seemed to be the gist of the report.

The film footage certainly seemed to bear out what I was able to glean from the report - those ridges looked well covered.

I'm surprised it wasn't picked up by our expat community, nor reported elsewhere. Wondered if it rang any bells with anyone.

There were some reports saying that Mont Blanc had grown by a few meters recently, due to heavy snowfall up top. This may be related to your story.
