There are obviously loads of solo skiers and boarders out there, getting together with like minded people, similar age groups via this and other forums and organising their own trips.
Is there a market for a specialist travel company offering holidays, tailor made if required, for solo skiers? (rather than singles holidays)
I think the key is reasonable prices; I know there are a few solo/singles tour operators but they seem very expensive. Also there seems to be a lack of options for regional flights; a lot of small operators offer airport transfers but they seem mostly to meet flights coming in from the London/South airports.
This could be combined with a kind of "snow mate" service - matching requirements with others; age, gender, skier/boarder, resort/country, dates, departure airport etc etc. Is there a market for this kind of service?

Bones, I don't think there needs to be any extra cost involved. Holidays could be put together with people sharing twin rooms or with no or little single room supplement.
These holidays might appeal to people who don't want to hassle of organising it all themselves and would offer the opportunity to be with a group of people.

No, not single as it happens; partner is not easily pursuaded to ski and thinks it's too expensive; 16 year old son is getting to the stage when he wants to board with his mates rather than ski with me!

Ironically Jo66, I think you might have found the answer already 
The season before snowHeads began, I was fortunate to be available to ski more often than any of my established ski buddies. But, as a result, I found myself haggling hard against single supplements with tour operators: on one occassion even holding off booking until 11AM on the day of departure before they finaly accepted that selling me one place in a triple room (without supplement) was better than it being entirely empty.
Since snowHeads began, I have skied more and more often, with more and more people and if anything, struggle to ski with everyone who I would like to now.
The way the snowHeads bashes are organised specifically takes into account the fact that many people will join the party as a solo skier / boarder and we do indeed match people with room mates as sensitively (or amusingly) as possible (sometimes we even put boarders and skiers in the same room  ). Over the week, people discover who they like to ski with, who they like to drink with and whose sofas they prefer to sleep on and return home with their mobile phones bulging with new ski-buddies.
With the Pre Season Bash just about to happen, the Mid Season Bash in March and the End of Season Bash in April, we only have 3 bashes per season (so far) but it's clear that people frequently hook up through snowHeads to ski with each other at other times too.

rayscoops, I've PM'd admin for some info, and the on-line lift ticket reservations is now working but I think admin's doing a deal for the PSB . . . so it's all in his hands at the minute
