Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Safety of marmots living under Austrian ski slope in question

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
The health and safety of a colony of Alpine marmots, who decided to set up their home on a ski slope, is worrying local tourist officials in Leogang (Austria). About 45 of the little furry creatures decided to dig their burrows under a ski slope in the resort, much to the concern of the local ski lift operators.
A subterranean power line for the slope’s cable car runs close to the marmot’s burrows. If one of the animals decided to nibble on the cable the effects could be serious, and not only for the animal in question, the operators have warned. While the safety of the cable car is guaranteed, it might have to be moved with emergency power. ...There are also fears that when the snows on the slope melt next spring, skiers could slice off the marmots’ heads when they dig themselves out of the snow after the months of hibernation. Hopefully, they will decide to sleep in until after the ski season finishes.

...erm, the end of your ski? At least that's the worry.

I think they're nice to have around, but the whistling marmot cuddly toys are only funny the first time you see them.
