Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Morillon 1100 Refuge l'Alpage access

Hi
Anyone stayed at the above development? Advertised as ski in / ski out so booked our last holiday there. Discovered on arrival that most of it isn't! Now in dispute with operator. Can't believe I'm the only one.
Cheers

empee, I don't know this particular accommodation but last year wasn't good for snow cover. We ski the Grand Massif every year in Feb and last year the runs to Morillon 1100 were shut a lot of the time, in fact anything below Samoens 1600 metres was a bit dodgy. Normally tho' you can ski down to Morillon village at about 800m. Poor snow cover isn't the fault of the operator but I can't comment on the specific location.

empee, We stayed there last year with peak retreats & thankfully they had put a warning on their website. we booked an apartment on the piste - though without the warning, I'd have left it to the operator. Which TO did you book with?

When did you book? I rather suspect that update was down to me - we booked with Peak early in 06 for feb 07 expecting ski in / ski out so were not too happy to find on arrival there was a ravine betweeen us and the slopes! Only access for us in block A was down some very steep improvised steps to the shopping area - invariably thick with ice in the morning so not much fun with daughters 5 & 7 and a 1 yr old! So much for the anticipated lunches on our ground floor balcony! Offered nominal future discount by Peak (£250)so it's going to small claims court - they said I should have asked was it ski in ski out as their description only meant the development as a whole!
Snow conditions were actually not too bad - overnight work from the piste ploughs managed to keep virtually all slopes open despite no fresh snow.
Thanks for the info though - if they'd had that warning when we booked we'd have had a very different holiday!

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

empee, I know exactly where you mean - we went that route once & never again - it was lethal - wonky steep steps (if you can call them that) Not absolutely sure that the warning was there when we booked the holiday - mr rpft & I were discussing this last night - I'll pm you Very Happy

We're stopping here in Feb, got it fairly cheap though so as long as it's near-ish to the slopes/lifts we're not too bothered! Think we're in Block A too...

What was the standard of accommodation like? Enough room etc?
