Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Washington in new whiteout warnings

The National Weather Service (NWS) has warned that whiteouts could be possible due to unseasonably heavy snow in the Seattle area.

It is predicted that by next Wednesday snow will have affected the region between the Canadian border and central Oregon, encompassing the Washington Cascades, the Seattle Post-Intelligencer reports.

The snow is expected to cause whiteouts as it will arrive in short heavy downfalls, with between four and eight inches of snow overnight in the Cascades.

However eastern Snohomish County could face seven to ten inches of snow.

In addition, the NWS states that the northern and central Rockies could be set for heavy snowfall on Saturday.
