Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Heated Boots - Hotronic v Therm-ic

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Hi

Anyone out there tried both of these heated boot technologies? If so, which do you rate best?

I've read a few of the other posts on heated boots and hotronic seem to be highly regarded. What about therm-ic? I notice that a number of the atomic boots are prepared for therm-ic, and some even include the full deal including battery packs.

Any advice would be welcome as I'm after a pair in time for the coming season.

Cheers

apres_alpes, I can't comment. I don't get cold feet. But Her Ladyship's sister has been well impressed with the Therm-ics. She rarely needs them set on anything other than the lowest setting. Another chum likes his hotronics.

apres_alpes, We do thermic, occasional battery problems but we send a fair few up Everest each year with them and we haven't lost a toe as yet. There are a few models and need, as always, to be fitted on a Custom Orthotic, not the 'Thermic Custom.' this is not an Orthotic, but called custom because to can trim the footbed size to fit. apres_alpes, i have seen very few problems with thermic, as SMALLZOOKEEPER says you get the odd battery problem but anything strapped to the outside of the boot is likely to take a few knocks

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

I love my thermics. I used to suffer really badly with cold feet but last season used them and there was no more pain.

The boss had a pair of Hotronics but last year had some footbeds fitted and has not needed the heaters as the footbeds have spread the load thoughout her foot and helped blood flow.

Thanks for all the feedback.

I think I'll start with therm-ic then for the current season. See how they go.

Thanks again.
