Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Swiss plan an extension to Klein Matterhorn

Klein Matterhorn
Already home to the highest cable car in Europe, the Klein Matterhorn may soon be topped with a 117m steel and glass pyramid, which will take it to a height of 4,000m. There are currently 76 "four-thousander" peaks in the Alps. The Klein Matterhorn's 'deluxe conservatory' would make it the 77th...
The hope is that it will lure the visitors, attracted by the hitherto distant prospect of conquering a four-thousander - albeit a manmade one - and in the comfort of an air conditioned and pressurised environment.
Local artist and architect Heinz Julen is behind the €100m (£70m) Matterhorn Glacier Paradise project, which will include a pyramid sky platform.

Yes, brian, it does seem odd.
The Zermat-site article you link to states: "Construction of the glacier restaurant, the shop, the mountaineering accommodation and underground access to the glacier palace is scheduled to get under way this summer."
That was last summer. It would seem nothing has happened.
There is nothing in the Guardian article to suggest any new developments.

The artist's impression looks rubbish, but any building on a mountaintop at 4k meters is gonna be cool. I hope they construct it.

Will be interesting to see how they get around the high winds and bad weather that plague the glacier at that height.

Maybe it could be a scheme for Cairngorm to copy....put a tower on top to make it 4000m.

Should probably worth an application very early in April 2008.
