brian, don't know, don't care TBH - I can almost see my roof - very good view of the glacier. You can zoom in a helluva lot.

easiski, yep, the zoom is excellent. You can see practically the whole L2A area on the La Meije one and a good bit of La Grave as well. Be brilliant if it was a webcam, or even an updated photo.

I just checked out the Oisans and LDA webcams and saw that there was definitely a little more snow on top than last week.

It's a bit difficult to tell, but it looks as though it might have snowed a bit lower yesterday and/or this morning. Lots of cloud on the webcams, so I'm not sure if I'm seeing cloud or snow - Looks hopeful though. Perhaps Davidof, Snowangel or Red Leon could tell us??

The snow in the village has melted, but there's a little viz higher up and hey presto the Oisans webcams come up trumps again - whoooopppppeeeeee.

bh1, Yes - but for the PSB it's really good - means lots of snow is falling on the glacier to replenish it. After a cool summer and a fair bit of snow then, I'm hopeful that if this continues we'll have a lot more skiing open for the Mondial than for the last 2 years (August skiing only).

Looking at this pic from the Oisans.com website (I think the cam is on the top of the Pic Blanc), it looks as though the snow is down to about 2,000m. Obviously it won't hang on, but the glacier one looks quite good too!!

Of course all the low snow has gone now, but looking at the webcams there's still a fair bit hanging on at higher altitudes - get a bit more .... I'm feeling a lot better about the glacier now than at this time last year.

Red Leon, To be fair it taught me how to ski. On reflection last years PSB was worth its weight in gold for me.

I was kidding. TBH, given my Godawful 'style' (I use the word advisedly  ) on skis, I actually much preferred the ice of PSB to the piles of soft snow everyone else revelled in at MSB. 'Orses fer course, I guess. Maybe one day I'll be able to cope with both.

easiski, I might make it there for the New Year week with a group of 6 - currently waiting for a reply from a flat owner in LDA and another in Val Thorens.
