Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Travelling to Lech

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
I'm hoping, maybe, to take my family to Lech for February half term. I can get flights to Innsbruck (albeit only Sunday to Sunday so far, and I'm not certain to get an appartment for that period), but I'm wondering about transfers. Once landed I like to make very speedy progress to the slopes. Are there sensible transfer services available or is it best to hire a car? Anyone know? Thanks

I don't know of any transfer companies per se. You could get the train to Langen Am Arlberg and then a taxi from there, it's about EUR35 I think.

But honestly, if it were me with a family, I would ask the Lech taxi company for a quote for a transfer from the airport straight to your hotel. The taxi company is www.taxi-lech.at .

Then compare that with car hire cost. The bus to station, then train, then taxi option is fine if you're not too overloaded and the family are mainly adults, but I wouldn't do it with little ones.

Check you can get accommodation first though, as I have always had trouble with Sun-Sun. We often take Sun-Sat, and then stay our last night in Innsbruck after transferring back to the city after a day's skiing. Again, is fine, but maybe not with young children.

noggy, If you fly to Zurich (not much further than the Innsbruck transfer), then there's a regular ski bus service, door to door. www.arlbergexpress.com
