Any advice on (relatively) cheap accomodation over New Year? Ideally lookin for places that are flexible on dates as mid week flights are cheapest. Thanx.

JDC, the cheapest I know is the Vagabond, that is a hostel where you'll be in rooms with 2 sets of bunk beds and a basin - toilets and showers are on each floor. It has its own bar as well.

There's also the Belvedere in Argentiere, though I don't know what it's like. The Vagabond is a good bet though, and Le Vert.

Take a look at the b+b places on chamonix.net. Definitely cheaper than a proper hotel. If all else fails, then try the Tourist Office.
