Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Pool in Wengen

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Just back from a week in St Johann where the entire resort had only two pool tables, one of which in a bar for over 18 year olds. My 9 year old son not impressed.

So he's now asking the question, when we go to Wengen at Easter, will he be able to play pool ? An issue, I must admit, has never previously had any bearing on my choice of ski resort !

Any Wengen localites shed any light ?

masmith, yes or at least probably yes, Chillis certainly used to have a table but I don't know if they still do

masmith, I was about to say that the one in the Sunstar is lovely, but then I read your post...wrong sort of pool!

They used to have a table in the Kegelbahn (now called Zlock or something like that). No idea whether it's still there, and not the sort of place you'd want to take a 9 year-old anyway to be honest. The Caprice used to have a pool table in the basement - my kids used to spend hours on it in the days when we stayed there. Sadly the table, like everything else that was good about the Caprice, is long gone.

Would Club Med have pool tables? I cannot remember pool in the bars in Wengen - but then I was not looking for pool.

Adelboden has loads of pool tables(in a pub that caters for the youth market, admittedly). It is not that far from Wengen if you are desperate for a pool fix.

As far as I remember the bar downstairs below the Silberhorn certainly had a pool table in it last winter. Don't know about anywhere else.

Z'loch, which means hole in swiss german. Now it's the blue monkey, the only place in town I dj at if I ever decide I need more punishment. They have 2 tables in there. As long as the kids are out by 10 (swiss law) it's fine to go to. Tiffanys has a table but to be honest I'd avoid taking kids there.
Under chillis still has a table but it's closed down there quite often, maybe in winter it's more open. It's no longer a club, or at least wasn't last year and I doubt this winter will be any different.

Latchigo, Haven't spotted anything like pool or related at the Club, fairly sure they don't have the space for it...

The Club is neither a "public" place (Fairly strictly guests only, who may invite someone along at best)

In the last week of March? Is it indoors ?
Anyway, it's not a problem, more a matter of satifying his curiousity. Always have and always will find plenty for the little 'uns to do, one way or another. Esepcially with the other type of pool to splash around in and upset those seeking relaxation ... tee hee Toofy Grin
