Greetings ALL!! I look forward to sharing my limited Skiing knowledge with everyone!
Having said that... Bought two new pairs of skiis last winter. I have always hung them up horizontally in a double ski bag in the garage. Mind you the garages in Phx, AZ get pretty warm in the summer, & spring, & fall. Is there a problem in that, or should I geep them in the house at room temp?

rpoint16, welcome to snowHeads!
Not sure what the best summer storage policy is (I keep mine standing upright on their tails), but I think it has been discussed a few times on the forum. You will pull up a few threads if you use the search facility.

Mine are stood up in the front porch, garage is too hot in summer, likewise the loft.

In my small cellar, at a perfect temperature I should imagine, permanently cool, in France.

snowskisnow, that's fair for most places; Phoenix OTOH is so dry that rpoint16 may well be safer from it than anyone else. If these were cross-country skis I'd mostly worry about base adhesive delamination due to heat cycling, but the steel edges on downhill skis tend to keep things more stable, particularly if the bases are kept well-waxed.

rpoint16, Welcome. My skis have always been heavily waxed (not scraped), bindings' DIN settings slacked off, tips and tails at their contact points securely bound together and a block of wood that is about 1/2 an inch thicker than the combined camber, placed between the bases at the boot centre point, then stored in my basement in their bag. So far I have not had any problems.

Oooops. Mine are in a storage unit on Purley Way in ski bag facing whichever way Mr C put them in when we moved house.

How about boots?
Presumably keep them dry and loosely buckled, but not too worried about temperature?
I am thinking about an unheated self storage unit (at least dry and dark)
