Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

montchavin snow record

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
we went to montchavin last year and think we were lucky. we went in early feb and had snow down to resort level - which was important as we had kids lessons in resort. by the end of the week it was getting patchy and they managed to maintain enough snow in the kiddies fenced off area but the main slopes were too patchy and dangerous to enjoy skiing down so we used the lift. it was warm and we had a little rain.

i was wondering about other people's experiences of montchavin in other years / months. is it simply too low to guarantee good cover and is it just a lottery ??

We went jan 05, snow (ok icy wall fo death) to the village. Jan 06 it was a grassy slope. We also went in March this year and it was grassy so you were lucky.

That said they have built a new resevoir at the top of Monthcavin to service the snow cannons so will be interesting to see how that effects the area. As a town we love Montcahvin (Cyril in La Ferme Du Caesar became a great friend!!) but we are snow animals and have booked for Plan Peisy in Jan. Scroll down the page for some pictures of the resevoir.

Yes have picked that up from your threads. Think we should try and arrange a snowHead owners meet up at some point during season. I will ask Boredsurfin to arrange!

Sounds good but not due to exchange until Jan 2008 and they build next summer ready for 08/09. Place is at bottom of Lanchettes chairlift. Paradski is a passion of ours. Looked to buy in Montchavin as we love the village but we decided to go high to make it snow sure. Montchavin is just such a wonderful 'real' French skiing village.
