Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Last minute trip to Chile

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
If I can get away at the beginning of September I am thinking of a week in Portillo or in the 3 Valleys and just wondered if anyone else would be out there at that time. I have been several times and know the areas well.

Could well be. Either NZ or S America. Depends on the snow and I will make a decision at the last minute.

Been to both places.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

I maybe (Not Portilio) but I cannot find any resonably priced flights at the moment.

To fly to Santiago and back it costs approx £1000 with either Air France, Iberia, Air Canada, KLM etc.
Then you have approx 2 hour transfer to nearest resort Valle Nevado or La Parva

Am off to Valle Nevado in the 3 valleys at beginning of Sepember. The snow is too good to miss this year and I have convinced myself that it is better there than December in Europe - but at a price! The packaage at the hotel is excellent value and I got a flight with Iberia. Am not getting any younger so am going for it while I can!!

Just had a quick look for flights with LanChile for a quick week in September. Quite resonable . Think I can get it cheaper via Argentina and hop over with Southern Winds (if they do it) or Aerolineas Argentinas

Just checked with Aerolineas Argentinas London -Santiago via (madrid & buenos Aries) £673 begin of Septmeber.

And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.

Just read that Southern Winds (Argentina low cost) airlines stopped operating in 2005. Airport police in Madrid discovered 60 kilograms of cocaine packed in four unaccompanied suitcases aboard an arriving Southern Winds flight. The resulting scandal cost the airline its government subsidy, and ultimately resulted in the carrier's collapse.

Shame as they were cheap,I used them alot flying around Argentina.
