Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Ideas for Early season trip

Hoping to go to USA/Canada at end of November for 10 days skiing followed by 3 days of Las Vegas or similar.

We've been to Banff & Whistler (loved both) but fancy going somewhere else. We'd quite like a resort with some apres life & slopes for intermediates with a bit of challenging stuff thrown in to keep my husband happy!

Any suggestions?

The Vail resorts - Vail, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge, Keystone - are usually looking good for Thansgiving.

So too the Utah resorts.

End November is a bit of a lottery. Usually several places in Utah and Colorado open, often with limited terrain tho. Whistler is pretty reliable (4 out of last 5 years it has been superb at Thx Giving). Grand Targhee in WY and Tahoe resorts usually a banker (altho not this year!). Sun Valley usually pretty good cruising, mostly on man made, but you can get some great deals at the lodge there, and Ketchum is a very cool cowboy town.

Places like Lake Louise, Sunshine and Sun Peaks typically open, but limited. Mt Bachelor in central Oregon is pretty much a certainty - always seems to get early snow - and has a decent amount of terrain open on an average year. Bend is a fun place too, as is central Oregon and skiing on a volcano. But you'd need to drive from Portland or get a regional flight to Redmond.

Depends how adventurous you want to be!

Of course remember everywhere is pretty much deserted at end of November, as no one skis here until after Xmas, so accommodation wise you can leave it to the last minute and get great deals. We typically book Thx Giving 3 days before, based on snow and forecasts. But we can drive most places - might be tougher flight-wise tho :{
