Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Anyone flown into Friedreichshafen? Ryanair fly there from Dublin - just wondering how convenient it is to summer skiing in Austria?

Only flown in for St Anton which was say 1 1/2hr drive. Not sure how much further down to Innsbruck (seem to remeber another 50-75km) and access to Hintertux / Stubai. I think that Solden and it's glaciers are closer. I'm sure that someone else will have more detailed info. As small airports go Friedreichshafen wasn't to bad and a quick trip into the town is worthwhile as the lake front is very pretty.

The nearest lift served Austrian Glacier is the Kaunertaler Gletscher.

This shows where they all are.

It is a low-quality airport, with few facilities. But its proximity to St Anton and the Arlberg region makes it a great-value destination.

I think it's an excellent airport - nice and small and with great rail links - the station is just outside. Not particularly close to any glaciers but I should think Pitztal could be reached by car in less than 2 hours or about 3 by train.
