Hi all.
Photos of a recent trip in the Watkins Mountains, E.Greenland are gradually coming online here.
More updates with the rest of the trip shortly, and will put together something for this site when time allows...

Very nice - pity you didn't get to see any Polar bears though

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Don't know why but it has never occurred to me in the past the Greenland might have significant sized mountains. Always thought it was just flat and cold - how naive can you get! Don't suppose there's any lift served terrain for us whimps?

There's a lifetimes worth of skiing in Greenland...some areas better than others due to the horizontal rock strata that are very common (certainly in E.Greenland). We only scratched at one 'small' glacier basin. The Woolley Glacier just E of us had loads of good looking terrain...and flying in/out was a case of spotting lines everywhere...
The lines we skied weren't massive (up to 600m of proper steep) but some big days (up to 1500m vert), but just South of where we were are some 1500m cliffs, though looking at aerial photos we didn't see any feasible lines. There's some big faces/peaks out there.
No lifts though I'm afraid, just proper wilderness.
