Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Swiss Speeding Ticket

Got home this afternoon to find that Avis have kindly forwarded on a speeding fine to me from the Gendarmerie in Lausanne Mad . Apparently I was doing 140km/h on the A1 when I should have been doing a maximum of 120.

Does anybody know what happens if you dont pay up? Do they bother chasing it?

Roger C, I would have thought Avus would have taken a credit card imprint, and will deduct fines automatically.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Roger C, Depends if you want to drive in Switzerland again. If you do and they catch up with you you'll be liable, if not file it in the round one.

Roger C, I've had one this season, on top of two last season and haven't had any problems through not paying them (crossing fingers and touching wood as I type). No problems going back to rent with the same car hire companies either

Roger C, No problem with hire company, they've done their bit by providing driver details. It's just if you get a pull from the old bill. they'll have you for the unpaid ticket.

The only problem is if you get stopped for an ID check or stopped in your car by the Swiss police, then they will arrest you. wink

I would pay it and make sure you get a receipt.
