Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Therm-ic foot warmers

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
In December whilst skiing in Tignes, I purchased 2 sets of Therm-ic Supermax Powerpacks + foot element. Whilst skiing, I noticed that the batteries were discharging much quicker than expected. On investigating, I noticed that the battery switches were moving position by themselves and were quite often to be found in position 3 (highest setting); hence, short battery life.

I returned these to Therm-ic, who replaced the battery units because the switches were not as strong as they should have been.

On testing the replacement battery packs, 3 of the 4 continued to switch by themselves.

I have since performed further testing (older style battery packs, someone else skiing with my new battery packs, etc) and I am convinced that there is a quality issue with the battery pack switches.

I would therefore be very interested to hear from anyone who has suffered a similar problem. That is, either observing that the battery pack switch is moving by itself and/or that the batteries have an unexplained short life span. If I can put together enough evidence I hope to convince Therm-ic of this problem, who will then hopefully do something about it. (I have already heard from a few other people external to snowheads.)

Thanks.

William

wrb888, Welcome to snowheads.

My missus has the older battery packs & if anything the switch is a tad too stiff to adjust. Looks like they've slackened it off a bit too much rolling eyes
