Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

A Punishing Mission?

Ok, we will still be putting a variation of the Scott into our range next year, my question to you is; Should it be the Original Mission or the Punisher(Mission Twintip)?

What are the dimentions of the Punisher mate? How does it ski compared to the Mission?

kiwi1, Exactly the same ski, just twin tip. Question is really, due to the strength of the reputation of the Mission, would a 40yr old bloke let me sell him a Punisher Twin Tip if he was never going in the park? The Graphics are quite"Young".

SMALLZOOKEEPER, I know nothing, but questions that you could ask yourself would be...

What is the market like for free-style skis in Chamonix - do you notice many with that type of ski compared to other resorts (does Chamonix make efforts to attract freestyle skiers)?

If you stocked the twin-tip, do you have others to which the purchased could draw comparisons?

If someone wanted to buy a twin-tip, would they naturally go to your shop or are there other more specialist shops in the area?

Is it best to have a little of a broad range of ski or be known as more of a specialist in one particular type (whatever that specialism is)?

Ultimately, you know the market in Chamonix better than any of us... Good luck snowHead

SMALLZOOKEEPER, How's you're shelf space for both? Logic would say that if the punisher is the same ski the twin covers both markets.

kiwi1, My thoughts too, however how many would still buy the Mission, all this being a mind thing.

"He skis well on the Mission, so so will i."

reduce numbers bud and get both. Whats the resupply like if you go for smaller numbers of the punisher just to see how they go? As a disti myself I think it's wiser for customers retailers to keep numbers down to a minimim and re-order from me as stock gets sold. That way I take the risk not the retailers.

The Punisher retails at 100 euros less doesn't it? This might be a factor...

Will it come in all the same lengths as the Mision btw?

Not intetested in either but I would think that a Mission twin would ski shorter so a 183 Mission isn't the same ski as a 183 Punisher. So if you are 200 plus lbs on a 183 Punisher, you will load the ski differently than a 183 Mission...no?

 snowHeads are a friendly bunch.

Although another consideration is if it ain't broke don't fix it. The Mission has a good reputation so it practically sells itself now, I would think, and if sourcing stock is not a problem you can always offer to get the Punisher for anyone who likes the Mission but desperately wants a twin tip. Not sure I see much point in a twin unless you're going to spend a lot of time in the park and I have a suspicion you might be restricting your target (potential) market too much by stocking the more specialist product. Unless that's what you want to do, of course

I ordered Mission, i think Neo will be the new ski to replace it, however the Mission being Wider always will have an appeal in Cham'. I think the growing intrest in Freestyle here in Cham' will be best served by Amplid, 4front and Armada.
