On April 23rd, blind snowboarder Adil Latif is going to board down a remote mountain route in the Alps to raise money to equip schools for child survivors of the 2005 South Asia earthquake. His route is only accessible by helicopter. The 25 year old Business Consultant from London, will be dropped on a mountain between France and Italy and ride down a remote glacier. He will be helped by a guide giving him directions via a wireless headset. ...Adil, who has family in Pakistan and grew up in Glasgow, began to lose his eyesight when he was 14 years old due to a degenerative eye condition. He now has only 4% vision left. He began snowboarding last year.
Two-thirds of all schools in Pakistan affected by the 2005 earthquake were damaged or destroyed. Adil is planning to raise enough money to equip 10 schools, at a cost of £1,400 per school.)
