Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Avoriaz

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Am going to Avoriaz this Friday for the weekend with a group from work. Seems to be enough snow left, and good weather - should be Laughing

However does anyone have any recommendations for restaurants / bars in the evening? Pizza places, traditional raclette / pierrade etc... would be ideal.

Any runs to put on our list / how to avoid the crowds would be most welcome too

Thanks for your help..

Restaurants, La Reserve, Hotel des Dromonts, Les Intrets, Bistro. There are many excellent restaurants in Avoriaz. There is a excellent report on where to ski on this site but I cant access it. Personally I like the skiing over towards Linga and that area.

My friends are over there at the moment and they are having a ball.

I am jealous and wish I could be over there this weekend.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

If you go to Plaine Dranse, try the Vieux Chalet for lunch. Run by a woman called BaBeth who thinks she's a dropdead gorgeous model, but has the people skills of Basil Fawlty. The food, however, is excellent.

doctor_eeyore, Is that the place with the rustic stove in the middle of the seating? Very good on a cold whiteout day.

My favourite place to stop for hot chocolate was in Les Crosets, not sure of the name but it's directly opposite the end of the run if you've come over from les Linderets although I'm not sure how the snow will be holding up at that altitude.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Swirly, That will probably be Caveau Rey Bellet. Owned and run by the late Corine Rey-bellet, tragically killed last year. A great lady and a perfect place to stop at the end of the run after "the Wall".
