Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Radical surgery for ski boots.

OK - on my last trip easiski kindly pointed me in the direction of a nice guy (Cedric) who removed a little of my ski boot. For some reason my right boot blocked my ankle from flexing forwards and created a pressure point at the top of the liner tongue cuff. The removal of a little material of the shin flap under the 2nd buckle helped, so this weekend I went further. I chamfered the inside of the flap to reduce it's thickness and also removed a couple of mm from the section the buckle fits to. Then I drilled a series of holes around the top of the tongue. This not only reduced stiffness but removed a little of the stuffing from the top. Although they are not perfect they are a lot better then they were. Prior to this I felt as if one boot just would just lock instead of gradually flexing, Hence only right turns felt natural. Can't wait to see how they do on the snow - if you see someone constantly flopping over during left turns you know that I removed too much Laughing

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

BernardC, I can hear the commentary already... "And what's going on... the skier in red has circled the first gate seven times???"

Scarpa, that does sound radical, and on only one boot. Will it help you land the cornices? Laughing

RachelQ, I'm afraid that nothing short of strapping a large helium balloon to me will help that Embarassed
