Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Ski pass away days

You know the kind of thing: you buy a 6 day pass for Resort X and it allows you one day in Resort Y......

When you get to Resort Y can you just get straight on the lifts, or do you have to get your Resort X pass "validated" somehow? Or does it vary?

I am specifically thinking of a day in Flaine with the Courmayeur pass. According to the Courmayeur website you can have a day in any other Aosta resort, and a day over the border in Flaine.

As always any help is gratefully received! Smile

Varies, but usually you have to take your pass to the lift office in Resort Y and be issued with a day pass. You may also have to pay a deposit on an electronic card, if Resort Y uses that system.

the ice perv, we went to LDa last week with our Serre Chevalier pass. You needed to get a day pass from the lift office.

the ice perv,

In my experience it varies I have had both , but more commonly you have to go to the lift pass office. I don't know about Flaine/ Courmayeur.

Edit: Rather beaten to it

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

It's also worth checking if the pass from one resort gets you a discount in a nearby resort. I have a season pass for Paradiski which gets me (nearly) half price tickets for Tignes/Val d'Isere and La Rosiere. Not sure if a week ticket would also get the same discount, but worth asking.

the ice perv,
does Courmayeur have an electronic lift pass? Flaine does, so if not presumably you would have to get a compatible pass on arriving in Flaine?

I think the Courmayeur pass for 3 days or more is electronic, so maybe you can just get on the Flaine lifts. I suppose if it doesn't work I'll just have to Q up at the window like everyone else! Mad
