TODAY
For some reason I thought it was the weekend.
Bummer...the men's has already started, so I can't get sky to tape that...although I've set it for the women's later.
Thanks for the heads up, Charlotte

DB, Raich isn't qualified for the DH thugh, but Svindal is qualified for all disciplines - it's going to be a hjumdinger.

easiski, Benni Raich was in the DH today and is on the start list for the SG tomorrow.
I think he qualifies due to having more than 400 points in a single discipline.

Well...doe to circumstances & delays, I got most of the men's race taped. I'm watching the women's now...but suspect that I'll have missed the end off the recording.

easiski, All racers with 400 points can start in any discipline at the finals but only the first 15 score points

Don't want to give away results for those who have recorded it but wow what a performance from Fritz Strobl. Suits you sir.

Now a two horse race for the mens, only 3 points in it with a Giant Slalom and Slalom to go (I think). Benni still looks favourite for the overall titel in my book but Svindal deserves to pick up the title and if he doesn't do it this year it's only a matter of time before he does.

And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.

Looking pretty much like it's going to be Raich and Schild doing it for Austria now with only the GS and Slalom to go. All they have to do is finish reasonably well. I can't see any of the speed specialists catching them after the strong performances by Raich and Schild in their "less strong" events over the last couple of days. Svindal's definitely one to watch for the future though, along with the young Mancuso and Zettel in the ladies.

easiski, you can come and pick it up anytime you like. It'll be under the mat - I always honour my gambling debts so I'll get it to you somehow.
OK, so not quite a podium but, despite missing a huge chunk of summer training, the gal did very well and I'll happily go double or quits with you for next season.

Bode Swiller, Oh no - I do think a podium is a possibility next year. Hopefully, with a good summer training under her belt on two feet she'll be able to move on up to top 10 regulars and maybe the odd podium. I think she's done absolutely brilliantly - pity the press aren't interested in success!
I was just reminding you - if you come to a bash you can buy me a coffee instead!

Bode Swiller, Well - €1 for a small white here. About 70p. can't even get a small coffee in the UK these days - the smalls are bigger than our "grande"

easiski, so you want me to subsidise the coffee.. I'm not the EU you know. Next you'll be wanting a grant for having to live in the alps.

easiski, better vote yourself in as an MEP then.
Anyway, how about this one... can it be true? A certain Ms C Alcott was interviewed live at the WC Finals and it was broadcast to the crowd. Allegedly she said something like "hello Swiss people go eat some cheese"... sounds very bizarre but this is according to a mate of mine who was there and witnessed the offence taken by all! Personally, I would have laughed but the Swiss didn't and think she embarrassed herself. It's true that she sometimes doesn't engage brain before opening mouth but a little tact needs applying methinks.

Sounds unlikely - perhaps she said she liked their cheese? No idea, or perhaps it was like th Lance Armstrong thing when he tried to answer in french and they all go offended when he didn't get it right? The swiss are not renowned for their sense of humour, and having worked there twice I saw almost no glimmer of a suggestion of one!!!

easiski, it defo happened. I like cheese, especially hard swiss cheeses, but I wouldn't bring it up in a live interview! Perhaps she was high about the end of the season.
