Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

OK - I have just spent a couple of hours in the garage tonight taking my old B2s to a 1/3 (87) angle. After swapping to a 2 degree egde and being amazed at how much better grip they produced on hardpack and ice I decided to go the whole hog and go for the knife edge. Much filing and polishing with many diamond stones later... they are ready. I've left the tails and tips unblunted as I can always detune them a touch on hte hill if they cause problems. I have a feeling that I would be better served getting my movements more precise though Laughing

I'll let you know how much difference the tune makes.

PS - next base grind I'll set the base to 0.7 degrees. Pimp my B2s Cool

Not a bad idea to check the tyre pressures as well

If they tips are still a bit grabby after you've skied 'em a while tather thn detune them add a tad more base bevel at the contact point. This means you'll still retain a sharp edge once they're fully engaged.

Recommended. Perfectly skiable & allows you to tune the base edge occassionally without worrying about overbevelling (over 1 degree).

2.5 side and .5 base for me. I really need to do mine again. You tend to let them go a bit in the powder.

Scarpa, interesting... I took my AC3s from a 2 degree to a 3 degree earlier in the season but found that they burred really quickly. Went back to the original 2 degree for the past couple of trips and did not notice much difference in grip but had to do far less touch up of the edges whilst out in resort.

SHello, I'm quite a tinkerer so don't mind running a diamond stone over them at the end of each day. I think that with the B2s being such a soft ski they could really do with a little help gripping on the hard stuff. One day to go now, but with all that new snow off piste will I get the chance to properly evaluate them Puzzled

I changed the angles on my slalom carvers to 3*.

I think even a numpty like me could feel the change.
