Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Demo ski bindings - As safe as normal ones?

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
I've just bought a new pair of slalom skis that have demo bindings mounted on them, having previously been used for a ski demo morning. Are these any worse than normal bindings, aside from a little bit of extra weight? The bindings are Tyrolia Railflex 11 Demo's. Just wondering whether to change them or not... Puzzled

iblair, Did you get them to race on ?

Some demo bindings will be over the allowed height.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

That's okay, I'm a coach, so nothing serious enough for heights to be checked snowHead

They are 355g heavier but have the same height. (I thought I had a full Tyrolia manual here, but I've only got the basic data sheet Sad )
They shouldn't be any "worse" than normal, you'll just have a bit more room for adjustment.

Wear The Fox Hat, thank you! That's what I was hoping to here. I can live with the extra 355g. I'll just have to see if I can live with everyone wanting to try them out now - can't use the "your boot won't fit" argument now snowHead
