Help!!
Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better!
Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

A snowHead
Went round to Spyderjon's today with Nick_C and Fenland Skier, for what I thought was gonna be a thorough service on my skis.
Not only were my ski's expertly serviced by hand, we had a lesson on how to do it for ourselves, making it easy even for an empty-head like me
Ended up buying a few bits and pieces, to do my own edges etc... while I'm away.
So........ thanks to Jon for the excellent service and advice, and to his better half for looking after us with cups of tea and bacon butties!
Highly recommended, thanks Jon!

Absolutely, a day well spent indeed.
Before I went I was expecting ski maintainence to be a black art and not something I'd trust myself to do but after having
Spyderjon
spend so much time showing us how to do it not only have I changed my mind but I've also bought some kit to let me do it myself
Big thanks to Jon for showing us the ropes and to
Debs
for the refreshments and Skye for the warm welcome
Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Nice one.... it's quite a lot of fun plus you can really take care and get those edges perfect. Light with the file and diligent with the diamond
I just ordered a few missing items from Sj as I'm going to convert my B2s to a 0.7 / 3 degree edge. Well - will wait until I get the next grind done before changing the base angle. I've also bought a proper waxing iron as my little 15 yr old travel iron just won't stay hot for more than 20 seconds at a time. Hmmm - might put my 2 degree guide and clamp on ebay hehehe.
