Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Can anyone help with decent restaurants in Crans Montana. Went there a couple of years ago and had two awful meals as we had done no research. We like decent pizza, inernational etc rather than valais food but any reccomendations appreciated!
Thanks

alanbevo, Are you staying in Crans or Montana? I've got loads of good recommendations for Montana and on the mountain.

OK, Le Mayen, under the hotel Olympic and above the Amadeus is super. Great steak tartare and good rostis. The Farinet twenty metres up the road opposite the casino does a great menu prix fixe and is very good for steak and mussels (not together!). Michaelangelo, on the left hand road down to the funiculaire (the one you drive up on the one way system) is very good italian. The Victoria, just by the roundabout opposite the co-op is slighty more formal italian. Les Vignettes just by the path you walk up to the lift station is traditional valaisanne. The restaurant in the Hotel Intergolf (carry on past the co-op down the hill ( not then one to the funiculaire, but the one on the right)) does very good international cuisine in a slighty more formal environment.

On the mountain, Bella Lui is great, good plat du jour, got to have a cafe Bella Lui, there's a super place called Pepinet under the violettes bubble in the middle of the colorado sector, but it doesn't have an inside so good weather only. There's a great little hut under the La Toula chair that just does raclette and wine again no inside and no loos. Plumachit is fantastic, turn left on the run in to the La Barmaz chair. Cafe de la cure on the way down to the bottom in Aminona is also super. The Cabane de Violettes at Violettes is more atmospheric than the service station there, but the service station sometimes has chicken on a rotiserie outside, which you can smell from miles away.

You won't go hungry and you get to eat in front of the best view in the alps.
