Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

le Corbier

The daughter has a chnace to go here on a school trip first week of April next year. I've never heard of it; apparently it's in the Sybelles area, of which I've barely heard.

Can anyone tell me anything about it and what it might be like in early April. From the website, it looks reasonably large and reasonably high. Why have I never heard of it (apart from because I'm an ignorant slob)?

richmond, I've been to St Sorlin D'Arves which is part of the Les Sybelles area for the last 2 years. I've put a review in the Resorts A - B. It goes up to 2600m and is 310 km of pistes altogether. Not a particularly challenging area though hardly a black run in sight. I don't know about conditions in April I've been at February half term both times.

I skied over to Le Corbier last year and it's a bit of a concrete monstrosity but on a school trip I don't suppose they will worry too much. Being a bit more modern though I think it has a few more attractions that the more traditional stations, a skating rink amongst them I think.

richmond, I have stayed in La Toussuire and also skied Le Corbier which is linked. There is quite a lot of it. It is not very high though, so April may be risky.

It is not too expensive. Not many Brits go there.

I would guess that yor daughter's proposed ski trip would be with Equity as they are to my knowledge the only british tour ops to go to Le Corbier: Equity also specialize in "all-in price" school trips.

I'm off there on Sunday with Rocketski, their "none-all-in" branch - watch out for feedback when I get back, and f you have any specific things you want to ask then let me know

Thanks for the info, folks. It does look moderately hideous (although the Equity hotel there is an interesting shade of purple), but as ColinB says, the girlies won't care much. I'm a bit worried about the height though.; it goes up to 2600m which doesn't sound especially exciting.
