Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Resorts near Montreal

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
HI,

I'm off to Whistler in 2 weeks, and on the way back I'm squeezing another bit of skiing. I'm flying in to Montreal airport at 7.05am, and I fly out that evening at 20:45. So where's best to go?

From what I've found so far, the shuttle buses to Tremblant aren't going to be any good, so it looks like I'll be hiring a car. I'm just wondering if it's worth going as far as Tremblant (which is 90mins I hear), so it may be best to stop at one of the smaller hills for a blast. Has anyone been to any of these, or hear any thing about them? Only about 200m of vertical, but for a few hours should be fine.

Any thoughts welcome
cheers
Andy

Alternatively, you could spend a day in one of North America's nicest cities. Just saying, if you've just spent 2 weeks in Whistler, is a hectic day to ski shite really worth your while when there are other things you could be doing?

ami, that's a good point, thanks. I've heard it's a great place. But I'm just saving the tourist stuff until the legs and knees fail completely and I can't ski! (hopefully many more years before that happens..). So until then I'll be trying to squeeze every day on a slope that I can! Cheers.

AndyHants,

check out this link - we went to Tremblant at New Year and found it really helpful - the administrator posts a full report everyday including pics. and yes, car hire is essential and you'll be on the slopes by 9.30. It looks as though the conditions have improved considerably.

Fair point, and I certianly understand your logic. I'm just saying that considering you are flying in on a red eye (judging by your arrival time) and you will have just spent 2 weeks at Whistler, skiing something that pales in comparision may be both tiresome and disapointing. I understand wanting to ski everything that can be skied, but I have also spent some great afternoons on Rue St. Denis in Montreal, and there are worse places to be.

AndyHants, Montreal is well worth spending some time in. Doesn't do to get too fixated, you know.
