Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Change to Banff ski bus service next year

At this time, the ski areas run this service

......And??!! I really can't see why the ski areas cannot continue to "run this service." Are they saying they don't cover their costs from lift pass sales? The Banff ski experience is fantastic - once you get to the snow, but trips to Lake Louise make a really long day out. I think they could be shooting themselves in the foot with this one by adding extra inconvenience.

Greed seems to be the way of the ski world - eg now no free parking in Val D'Isere, Canadian resorts more or less forcing you to buy insurance for hire skis (I was told ANY scratches would mean I'd have to pay for a full service - so much for wear and tear eh?), non-refundable charges for hands free key cards (eg Leysin, Alta), paying for a pi$$ in France - the list goes on.....We're a bit of a captive market aren't we?

mountainaddict, it is a pretty big expense to run busses every single day for 3 different resorts, regular services. Some lift companies are struggling without having to run buses up to 45 minutes each way. There aren't many skiers at the big3 compared to the other resorts so turnover, I would imagine, will be particularly low which is why the hotels chipped in and run the bus service between them (or at least they did last year).

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Buses are still picking up from hotels. We know for certain because we just got back from Banff on Christmas Day.

Hope that helps
