Now guys, I know this is a long time away, but I'd be interested to know when your local schools are planning to take their 2 week Easter break. As Easter Sunday is 23rd March, some education authorities seem to be taking the holiday later. Durham, for example will be on holiday from Mon 7th April.

Ours are 1st-11th April 2008 - this is Essex county council that control the Chelmsford area - I hope that this helps.

Helen Beaumont, we (Edinburgh) finish on Thurs 20th March, back at school on Mon 7th April.

Seems there's a large difference next year, some start mid March, some in April. I was trying to plan a family holiday, but if no 1 son goes to Edinburgh uni as planned, his term dates will not coincide with younger sons.

Local authorities have wanted to break away from Easter holidays for quite a few years now. It seems like next year many have made a stand against Easter.
LB Barnet is the same, they are having 2 weeks in April, which is a real nuisance, as I try to extend my holidays by incorporating as many Bank/religious holidays as possible.

Around here (Warwickshire), last day of spring term is Wed 19th March, and first day of Summer term is Thur 3rd April. Haven't quite worked out what this means yet as to when we'll be skiing, but being at school 4th/5th April is unlikely to be our priority.

ssnowman, as do we. Kids are at Catholic school too, so I am surprised. The younget will get the Good Friday off and Easter Monday though. I have only found out about this by accident from a mother at another school. We haven't yet had official notice, but it is on the school website.

Edinburgh Uni's spring break ends on April 11 so maybe you'll have to steal a few days from each term. What a pain. Just when Easter is nice and early, the schools break up later...
