Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Helmet Transportation

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Finally got a helmet this year, after a few close calls. What's the best way to take it on the plane? I've seen people with them dangling from their Rucksacks, is this ok? How can I stop it getting bashed about?

What about the suitcase option? Not sure it would fit, and I don't really trust the baggage handlers to be gentle , but do I have much choice?

I'd rather it be in one piece when I take a spill and bang my head!

Cheers

I put mine in my rucksack to give it a bit of protection and then stick the breakables inside it. It's inside the hand luggage restrictions and packs easier that way than trying to fit it in my holdall and leaving it to get squished by the baggage handlers.

I wear mine on the plane. I find if I fall over enough as well I manage to get a couple of seats to myself.

Just fasten it to the outside of your hand baggage rucksack. But be careful. In my experience there's nothing worse than a damaged helmet

Just stick it in the middle of your suitcase and stop worrying. Ask yourself: if the helmet is that fragile what use will it be if you fall over?

skiskool, I do same as most people here. Goggles and prescription insert inside it, and then stuff the rest of the space with socks. Middle of hold bag surrounded by clothes. Seems to have worked pretty well so far.
