Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Good boot fitter / modifier - Manchester area

Hello All

I bought some new boots at the end of last season and recently got back from my first ski trip with them.

Whilst the boots themselves seem to be a pretty good fit (i posted on here when i first got the boots as i was worried i had been fitted with the wrong size) there are a couple of things i think would benefit from some expert advice.

Obviously I know of snow & rock and ellis brigham, but i was thinking more of going somewhere a bit more specialist (such as smallzookeeper or cem) but they all seem to be located too far away. Does anyone know of any specialists in the north west of england?

My problems are a slight tight spot on the left boot that i think might need a slight stretch, but the main problem i have is that i am quite flat footed and years of walking round without any special soles in my shoes has caused me to suffer from knee problems. I now wear special insoles in all my shoes and this has improved my knee pain. I think i would probably benefit from having some boot insoles custom made. This flat footededness means that my knees turn inwards slightly which causes me to be unable to ski completely flat on the skis. I'm always kind of on the inside edge which causes me to loose speed when skiing straight. A correct fitting insole might correct this, but i'm also led to believe that this can be corrected on the boot itself if not solved by the insole.

Anyway, enough of my woes - anyone know of any NW boot experts that could give my boots the once over and make recommendations?

Thanks.

Lockwoods in Leamington - not very close but you can do it in an hour and a half from Manchester - potentially a little quicker if you take the M6 Toll. 01926 339 388.
