Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Just about to book a shoebox apartment in La Tania, March 10th, trying to do 3 Valleys on a bit of a budget with a couple of mates....

...now I've heard it's quiet, but how quiet?!

Are there any bars at all there?

Any regular bus service between La Tania and Meribel/Courchevel?

Cheers!

Chippy, there is one big noisy "British" bar, Pub Le Ski Lodge, full of chalet staff/guests, it has live music and what have you ... and a couple of quiet-ish more French bars.

www.latania.co.uk is pretty informative.

There is a regular free shuttle from La Tania to the various bits of Courchevel. I don't think there's a bus to Méribel but it's not far if you wanted to cab it for a change of scene.

Been there several times, the shuttle from La Tania, it's not that regular, better option to get to CV1850 or Meribel is the gondola lift and ski down.

Chippy, Pub Le ski Lodge is more like a seasonaires hang out, lively yes but not very 'classy'. Providing you can get around the seasonaires hogging the comfy seats, getting discounted drinks and food, you should be OK! Expect Expect 6 - 8 Euro's for a pint though. Remember thats much cheaper than CV1850!

For other nightlife, it's easy to get to Meribel by Taxi, cheaper to split it with a few others, but getting to CV1850 for nightlife is an expensive jaunt! If your on a budget, stay in La Tania and party late!

Have a good one!

there is Hotel Telemark further up resort, it's a pretty cool chilled bar and gets a bit lively some nights. Also, there is another bar (La Taiga???) on the other side of the road that skirts the outside of the resort which kicks off a bit. Finally there is what we used to call the "Right said Fred" bar next to the ski lodge in town, so called as all the bar staff looked like members of the aforementioned pop group! Not sure if it's still there.

La Tania is small but fine and you can always go to Meribel and chip in for a cab back if you really want to, it's not that far...have a good un and make sure you go to Le Rond Point (The Ronnie) on the piste in Meribel at least once for live bands and loads of beer 4-7pm! Ski down into Meribel, few beers, bus/taxi back to La Tania - into Ski Lodge, job done.

Have a good un
