Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Bootfitter in Morzine?

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
A colleague is going to Morzine very soon and is in need of good boots. Can anyone recommend a shop/bootfitter in Morzine where he'll get a professional and knowledgeable service?

(I don't think he'll be persuaded to make a trip to Cham.)

Not far from Morzine to Cham, maybe 30 to 45 minute drive.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

conor - I'd love to be able to make a suggestion, but...

...nearly everyone I know goes to Cham.

Thanks anyway. Will mention Cham to him (is it 'Footworks' where SZK works?)

conor, If you can't get to SZK then try Rene Collett up at Avoriaz (ask but its next to the bowling), he sorted me out with an existing footbed problem, he is a little eccentric (I think this is possibly essential for bootfitters) and sometimes grumpy (ditto) but he was the only experienced boot fitter I found in many months I spent in the area last year. He even adapted some boots for one of the mountain guides who only has half a foot (still guiding), the guide actually came in for a boot tweak whilst I was there and was Rene's biggest fan

Thank you again. I recently got new boots in Tignes and I can highly recommend the bootfitter, a chap called Michelle (sic?) who owns Sportski in Val Claret. He was very patient and informative and definitely seemed to know feet and how boots can be manipulated to fit the individual. Thought I'd put a word in for him FWIW.

Anyway, I'll pass Rene Collett on to my colleague and then I guess I've done my bit. Just don't want him to have the Slush and Rubble treatment that I got with my first boots. It would appear that after numerous stretches and a visit to Profeet, that they were too small for me in the first place and could not be stretched further. Wouldn't wish my bunnionettes on anyone (except maybe the guy who sold me my first boots Mad )

Frosty, what is Rene Collett's shop called?
