Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Non-existent chalets are on offer for rent in Verbier over the internet, according to the Verbier Tourist Office


Real Verbier chalets

The ’owner’ of the chalets, Christian Bita, is not known to the local administration, but is purporting to offer chalets ’Cioriques’, ’Ciel’ and ’Sorin’ for rent.

He uses the email dreamholidayvillas@yahoo.com, and asks for a deposit to be made to an Austrian account under the name Petre Negrea.

The Tourist Office asks people to ’be careful with any proposal for those chalets or from those people’.

It happens all over the place. It also happens that genuine apartments get rented by scammers who aren't actually the owners. If you're renting then you need to check the "owners" bona fides. For example, we are a registered company in France and you can search on our SIRET number in the register of commerce - which may not be infallible, but certainly helps.
