Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Another vote for Oakley Hi-Yellow

I REALLY struggle in flat light, got some of these about 3 years ago and to be honest they don't make a great deal of difference for me.

Not sure i get any better contrast. But 3 weeks ago in Val Thorens and the fog i went to 4 shops to see if there was anything better out there and 3 said you have the best. ! said Polorised. So here i am with my Oakley Hi Yellow goggles.

I've got an Oakley Hi Yellow for flat light and also got a standard yellow and a pink iridium in Oakley and a set of Scott's with their grey, chrome amplifier lens in. For my money, out of the selection I have, the best lens in low light is the one in the Scott's. I have been really disappointed with the Hi Yellow in comparison (esp. given it's huge cost) even though it is the lens that everyone raves about for those conditions, and I find it is fine if the sun then does come out too. In fact I far prefer the Scott's with the amplifier lens to the Oakleys to the extent that they are the only ones I have used over my last two trips and we have had real flat light at times. This is a shame because the Oakleys have far more 'pose' value wink

I don't think anything helps much in really flat light, to be honest.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

It will be interesting to try out the clear lenses with no tint, just the UV protection. It should make a good difference when using a head torch as even a yellow tint negates the clatity of the white light given out by LED torches.
