The FIS world Alpine skiing championships are due to start in Are (Sweden) tomorrow, but there may delays due to the poor weather conditions forecast for the next few days. It was raining today, with poor visibility at the top of the courses. Winds and snowfall are forecast for tomorrow, the day of the men's super-G. But, there is lots of snow and the pistes are in good condition. ...The organisers are asking people not to panic and have stated that the entire programme should not be disrupted. The start of races tomorrow might have to be delayed by 30-60 minutes.
Saturday's men's super-G will be followed on Sunday by the women's super-G. The following three days are dedicated to downhill training but could be used to reschedule races if needed.
