134) Skiers always have right of way over boarders and you should feel free to remind them of this at every available opportunity
135) Black runs are designed to provide the learner with a mixture of experiences, so to get your feet on the first day give them a go, it will help define your natural ability.

136) when using a narrow piste always stop in the middle of the track so that others can see you and shout plesant greetings
137) Those snowboarders lying on the piste are just waiting for a skier to ski over them, it's part of being cool for snowboarders to have as many scars as possible

154) The sharp metal edges on your skis are dangerous if not carefully blunted with a file before use. This is known as 'tuning'.
155) Remove all traces of the protective shipping wax from the base of your skis before using them. Sandpaper is ideal for this.
156) Modern lace-up snow board boots are much more comfortable than the rigid ski boots and work just as well with skis as they do with boards. As an even cheaper alternative, an old pair of leather walking boots will be fine. Ask at the resort shop for the 'vintage' bindings and take your boots along to show them.

158 ) To prevent your boots from getting smelly, pour boiling water into the liner every night, then leave them to dry on the balcony. This helps the liner to keep its shape.
In the morning, the water will be cold, but if you put your feet straight into the boot, the cold water will numb the pain of the boots AND wash your feet.

161) On a cold day, place your hand under the bottom of the person next to you on the chairlift as they sit down. Not only does this keep your hands toasty warm, but it's considered only friendly for complete strangers to do this, and a great way to expand your social circle.

167) Beginners should wear fingerless gloves as it really helps with properly gripping the poles.
168) When there is no cloud its best to leave the sunglasses in the hotel as its almost impossible to make out the contours of the slope with dark shades on when the sun is out.
169) Ski Instructors are really keen to hear where you have skiied before and how little its snows in Ireland and Britain.
170) Whacky headgear is a real stamp of individuality and style, buy loads in the resort.
171) Expert skiiers really appreciate first weekers just trying the black runs on their last day. Even side sliping down in the middle of the piste just below the lip they will just shrug and recollect fondly how once they were learning

AxsMan,
Providing you don't mind being in a corner of some foreign field that is forever England at high cost with usually the least good snow in the 3V no.
Nothing wrong with it per se but not my cup of earl grey.
NB Mont Vallon is an exception to the poor snow.
